The MCSI has released its annual grant initiatives for faculty and student research.
There will be five funding programs in 2022: the Research Seed Grants in Sustainability, the John C. Mascaro Faculty Programs in Sustainability, the Global Engagement in Sustainability Grants, the Sustainability Student Prototyping Grants, and the Student Groups Program Grants. See the list below for more details, including program descriptions and how to apply.
Research Seed Grants in Sustainability: The goals of this program are to catalyze the formation of interdisciplinary, synergistic, and sustainability-focused research teams; to fund projects capable of obtaining external funding upon completion; and to enhance the national recognition of sustainability at Pitt and increase on-campus awareness regarding interdisciplinary sustainability research and education. The Seed Grant program is open to all Pitt faculty.
John C. Mascaro Faculty Programs in Sustainability: This program strives to enhance the University's mission of promoting interdisciplinary involvement and excellence in both sustainability research and education. It is open to all Pitt faculty.
Global Engagement in Sustainability Grants: The goal of this program is to enable people to share, develop and expand their research, teaching or professional practice beyond the University's campus. This includes working with national and international partners from either inside or outside of higher education, and working in areas that strongly align with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. The Global Engagement Grant program is open to all faculty and professional staff in all disciplines.
Sustainability Student Prototyping Grants: This new program strives to support students who are interested in creating innovations which further and enhance sustainability. It is open to all Pitt students.
Student Groups Program Grants: The goal of this program is to support groups of students who are interested in creating programs, activities, events, or other initiatives that both address sustainability and enhance Pitt's Sustainability Plan. It is open to all Pitt student groups.
