Autologous fat transfer (AFT) is a surgical procedure that involves harvesting adipose tissue by liposuction techniques and grafting it to another site on the body and over 100,000 cases performed in the US alone. The major problem with fat grafting is that only 63% of the graft volume, on average, heals and persists long term. Therefore, preserving harvested tissue on-site for the next procedure is a major clinical need. LipoStore is an innovative specialized storage device that enables simple, cost-effective, on-site cryo-storage of adipose tissue for repeat tissue grafting procedures without the need for another invasive fat tissue harvest procedure.
